What is a Plant Start CSA?
Gooseberry Bridge Farm grows all of our annual plants and garden starts from seed each year.  CSA stands for community supported agriculture.  Farmers often have the costs and many hours of work in their products before they are ever ready for market.  Farmers establish CSAs to link communities to farms by asking their communities to provide financial support in exchange for goods in advance of the season. In exchange for making an early investment before the season starts, the member typically receives more than fair market value in goods during the growing season.

In this Plant CSA you will will receive all of your plants in one  or two pick ups - and you'll benefit from knowing where your plants are coming from and  that you’ve reserved your garden early - just as if you were starting the seeds at home yourself!

We pride ourselves in using all organic growing methods and offering plants that we know will give you the best chance of success growing here in the Ozarks.  Your Plant Start CSA order comes with garden tech support! Meaning you can message or email us anytime throughout the growing season with questions about your plants, pests, or anything else related to your garden!

*New in 2026* we are using exclusively Tilth "Sprout" Potting soil - Tilth soil is a small business in Ohio that makes living soil blends from composted food scraps!  I am so excited to see how our plants thrive in this new soil!  Learn more here:
https://www.tilthsoil.com/products/sprout-organic-soil

Limited CSA shares are available and some plant selections may be limited.  All orders must be placed and paid in full by March 1st to receive the discount listed below.   We will have a plant sale with any extra plants, but selections at the sale may be limited!

Spring ADD-ONs: Pick up will be around the 1st of April (give or take, make sure to order by Feb 1st for Spring add-ons!)

Summer Gardens: We will have pick up times posted the first week in May.
Several packages are available!
We specialize in heirloom tomato and pepper starts. Our starts are grown using organic practices.  Our tomato starts are quite large when it is time to plant them in the ground, giving your garden a head start!  We will NOT allow pick up before it is safe to plant your plants in the garden!  This means other nurseries will be open and selling tomato and pepper plants up to a month before we will schedule pick up, thank you for trusting that we are giving you the best chance for success!

How it works:
When you order (by Feb 1st for Spring and March 1st for Summer plants ) you can choose from our entire variety list here, or let us customize your garden based on your general preferences!  Gardens customized based on general preferences are our most popular option!

No refunds will be issued as long as substitutions are available ( you may also switch out any of my selections with other options available upon pick up!).  Plants that are not picked up by the TBD deadline  will be considered abandoned and will be rehomed - communication goes a long way here, if you have a vacation or other conflict in early May please just let us know.
All tomato plants will be grown in 3-4” pots (some smaller plants may be in 2” pots)

Below is a list of general options - Please feel free to send us a message if you'd like to discuss selections further or check out our full varieties list (click here)!!  We choose our varieties based  on flavor, performance growing here in the Ozarks & pest resistance and sometimes we like to try fun new things!   All of our plants are heirloom varieties unless otherwise mentioned - we do offer both heirloom and hybrid cucumber and summer squash varieties because we have found that hybrid varieties often produce better when working against common squash pests found in our area.  We have been adding hybrid tomatoes to our selections for disease resistance and productivity/shelf life.   If you prefer all heirloom varieties please mention that in your order!  For a complete list of varieties for 2026 click here -  If you have any special requests, especially if it is something you've ordered in the past and is not on our list this year - please let us know ASAP !
